The SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management provides students with the industry knowledge and managerial skills to coordinate hospitality operations within a variety of hospitality settings, with a focus on commercial cookery.
This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions. The units selected provides a pathway to work as a departmental or small business manager in restaurants, catering operations, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

This offering is delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment, 4 weeks (120 hours) of Vocational Placement, and 12 weeks of holidays.
This course offering includes a compulsory Vocational Placement of 120 hours, conducted over 4 weeks throughout the course duration. Specific information about Vocational Placement can be found in the Student Handbook and course materials.
This course is conducted with a blended learning model that includes face-to-face learning in classrooms and in a fully functioning commercial kitchen, interactive online/distance learning, and vocational placement.
