This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform advanced diagnostic tasks on light vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
Target groups for the AUR40216 Certiﬁcate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis are international students who are:
• Seeking to pursue a career in automotive retail, service and repair industry
• Seeking to pursue a career as a Light Vehicle Master Technician or Mechanic
• Seeking to enter a new industry sector
• Seeking a pathway to higher level qualifications.
This course is delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment delivered over three trimesters (comprising 6 terms of 6 weeks each and including 16 weeks of holidays).
This course is conducted with a blended learning model that includes face-to-face learning in classrooms and in automotive workshops, and also via interactive online/distance learning.

After achieving the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis students may choose to undertake AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or other relevant automotive qualifications.
